When we open a custom scheme URL before the window load event has been fired it seems that GUM prompt is not displayed after this due to Chrome bug. See more details here https://issues.chromium.org/issues/41398687.
The result in Jitsi Meet is the following:
If the user is joining a call for first time and haven't granted A/V permissions and lands on the deeplinking page we try to open the desktop app via redirect to a custom scheme URL. If the user chooses cancel and "Launch in web" we go to the prejoin screen and proceed with the initial GUM. At this point any GUM call won't display the permission prompt due to the browser bug and will go on forever making it impossible for the user to unmute camera or microphone.
Up until now we relied on implicit loading of middlewares and reducers, through
having imports in each feature's index.js.
This leads to many complex import cycles which result in (sometimes) hard to fix
bugs in addition to (often) breaking mobile because a web-only feature gets
imported on mobile too, thanks to the implicit loading.
This PR changes that to make the process explicit. Both middlewares and reducers
are imported in a single place, the app entrypoint. They have been divided into
3 categories: any, web and native, which represent each of the platforms
respectively.
Ideally no feature should have an index.js exporting actions, action types and
components, but that's a larger ordeal, so this is just the first step in
getting there. In order to both set example and avoid large cycles the app
feature has been refactored to not have an idex.js itself.
React Native doesn't define __filename nor __dirname so do it artisanally. In
addition, this helps with centralizing the configuration passed to loggers.
The files react/index.native.js and react/index.web.js ended up having
very similar source code related to initializing the Redux store. Remove
the duplication.
Additionally, I always wanted the App React Component to be consumed
without the need to provide a Redux store to it.
A bug was discovered in d17cc9fa which would raise a failure to push
into the browser's history if a base href was defined. Fix the failure
by removing react-router. Anyway, the usage of react-router was
incorrect because the app must hit the server infrastructure when it
enters a room because the server will choose the very app version then.
